So the America I loved still exists, if not in the White House or the Supreme Couty or the Senate or the House of Representatives or the media.  The America I love still exists at the front desks of our public libraries.

-Kurt Vonnegut

Acknowledgements

A project as large as the development of a public library web site cannot be successful without a coordinated effort of several groups of individuals. We therefore extend a sincere thank you to the following people:

  • The staff of the Tamaqua Public Library.
  • Our Library Director, Gayle Heath.
  • The students of Prof. Mike Kitsock's Latin class at Penn State Schuylkill Campus.
  • Cassandra Kane, freelance writer for The Times News.
  • Amanda Smarr, whose elegant photography will no doubt impress and adorn many homes in Tamaqua (To see more of her work, visit www.mandajeanphoto.com).
  • Samantha Gibbons and Bob Kunkel for their ideas regarding the genealogy page.
  • The patrons of TPL whose contributions in the form of suggestions were invaluable.
  • The knowledgeable tech-help employees of Polaris Graphics, Inc.
  • Eric Zizelmann, whose resourceful ideas, steadfast enthusiasm, and formidable leadership ultimately guided this project to its success.
