Egypt Beckoned at the Tamaqua Public Library
Please join TAHYA, a spellbinding performer, as she invites you to enjoy her personal account of her exploration of Egypt. A slide show, mini lecture and participatory program will be held at the Tamaqua Public Library on Saturday, September 29th from 2:00-3:30 pm. The presentation will include her visit to temple sites sacred to ancient Egyptian civilizations, as well as the Bahariyah Oasis and the Western Desert where she drummed and danced with Bedouins under a starry night sky.
Explore the art, artifacts and music of Egypt. Discover the history, mystery and rhythms of percussion instruments used in ancient temple ceremonies. Percussion instruments will be provided for audience participation.
This program is free and open to the public. Reservations are strongly encouraged. Please call the library at 668-4660 to reserve your place for this exciting presentation.
